About St. Sebastian

In this artwork, R. Incirauskas depicts an early Christian saint and martyr Saint Sebastian. According to traditional belief, he was killed during the Roman emperor Diocletian's persecution of Christians, initially being tied to a post or tree and shot with arrows, though this did not kill him.

Year: 2017

Romualdas Incirauskas

Romualdas Incirauskas was born in 1950, Anyksciai, Lithuania. He is a graduate of Tallinn Art Academy with a specialization in metal. Incirauskas is a highly professional artist with great experience in creating both applied and fine arts. He masters broad types of art, for example, medals, sculpture, paintings, and interior objects.

Artworks of Incirauskas are mostly composed of the metal that requires deep knowledge of technology and distinctive artistic thinking. In his works, Incirauskas integrates constructive compositional principles with biblical, historical, cultural or ecological themes. Moreover, the artist creates various interior objects which unite functionality with decorativeness and playfulness. The unique stylization of the objects, excellent knowledge of metal technology, a serious, responsible and playful approach to the works - medals, watches or pictures - form a definite result of artistic quality.

The author admits that he appreciates the harmony of concept and technology. The artist’s life and work motto are the following: “Through Him, all things were made; without Him, nothing was made that has been made“, John 1/3.
